Experiential Learning Session on Firearms and Ammunition

The Department of Forensic Science organised an experiential learning session on Firearms and Ammunition for MSc Forensic Science students, providing them with practical exposure to the principles and applications of forensic ballistics.

The session covered the fundamental firing mechanisms of firearms and the characteristics of different types of ammunition, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of the scientific principles associated with firearms examination and forensic investigation.

As part of the practical component, students participated in supervised target-firing activities, providing an opportunity to connect theoretical concepts with practical application. The experience helped students observe firearm operations and understand the relevance of ballistic evidence in forensic investigations.

The session provided an integrated learning experience combining theoretical knowledge, practical exposure, observation, and application, thereby strengthening students’ understanding of forensic ballistics and its role in the field of forensic science.
