An Initiative for AI-ready Kerala

A significant milestone was achieved as Dr. Tom M. Joseph, Director – New Initiatives at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), presented the Kerala AI Literacy Mission proposal to Hon'ble Minister for AI & IT, Shri P. K. Kunhalikutty, and Shri Seeram Sambasiva Rao, IAS, IT Secretary, Government of Kerala.

The mission envisions empowering every Keralite—students and professionals, young and old, across cities and villages—to become confident, responsible, and AI-ready. Over the next five years, the initiative aims to reach 3 crore people through schools, colleges, government institutions, and public outreach programmes.

Led by JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi, in collaboration with the Future Kerala Mission, this initiative reflects a shared belief that education should extend beyond classrooms and create opportunities for every citizen.

Together, we have taken the first step towards building an AI-literate Kerala.
