Technical and Skill Enhancement Programme, “Data to Decision: Prompt Engineering for Economists”

The Department of Economics, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi, organised the Technical and Skill Enhancement Programme “Data to Decision: Prompt Engineering for Economists” on September 12, 2026.

The programme featured Dr. Meenu Suresh, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, as the resource person. The session introduced students to prompt engineering and explored the effective and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence tools in academic learning, research, data analysis, and decision-making.

Through the programme, students gained insights into how AI can support the way economists formulate questions, interpret data, and approach decision-making. The session also highlighted the growing relevance of AI-driven tools in economics and the importance of developing the skills required to use these technologies effectively and responsibly.

Bringing together economics, data, and technology, the programme provided students with an interdisciplinary learning experience and an opportunity to explore emerging digital skills shaping the future of the discipline.
